Our family knows firsthand how important it is for the Edmonton Jewish community to have a JCC, especially after 15 years without one. At various times in our lives a JCC has been our family’s second home—a place where we have worked and volunteered, celebrated birthdays and holidays, and even taken karate and swimming lessons. We often think of it as where we raised our son.
The opportunity to be part of building a new JCC comes perhaps once in a generation. That prompted us to stretch our giving and establish an endowment fund as our way of playing a role in this pivotal moment for our community. The Saegert Family JCC Fund will support the operations of the Oshry | Kipnes Jewish Community Centre in perpetuity, ensuring that families can enjoy what the centre has to offer for generations to come.
