In September 2022, we lost our dear friend Keith Simmonds in a tragic cycling accident. With the establishment of the Keith Simmonds Scholarship for Community Service award, we hope to honour his legacy as someone who was so passionate about community service and building a community around him. The scholarship will be awarded annually to a graduating student at Ross Sheppard High School to assist with post-secondary education expenses. This student will have demonstrated commitment to and achievement in community service and volunteering, and will have made an impact in both the Shep community and beyond. If we reach our goal of $10,000+ in Keith’s memory, we will be able to endow this fund in perpetuity and ensure Keith’s legacy lives on.
