Ministik Conservation Land is owned and stewarded by the Edmonton and Area Land Trust (EALT), a registered charity that conserves nature in Edmonton and area and engages people and communities in land conservation and stewardship. This 160-acre land is located in the UNESCO Beaver Hills Biosphere Reserve and is adjacent to Ministik Lake Game Bird Sanctuary. It includes a matrix of wetlands, modified grasslands, and deciduous forest. The many wetlands are important for filtering water and maintaining our water supply, and provide key habitat for ducks, geese, and other waterfowl. The land is also home to moose and deer, as well as predator species like raptors, wolves, and coyotes. With the support of this endowment fund, EALT has been able to accomplish many stewardship activities at Ministik, including planting trees, managing invasive plants, and installing reflectors on fences to keep wildlife safe. Your donation to the Ministik Stewardship Endowment Fund will help the Edmonton and Area Land Trust continue to steward this land in perpetuity.
