At Wings, families find safe housing, trauma-informed support, childcare, life skills, education and employment programming, financial literacy, and individualized case management that helps them move beyond crisis toward lasting independence.

Since opening our doors in 1986, Wings has supported more than 6,000 women and children as they rebuild their lives after family violence.
Today, Wings provides one of Alberta’s largest second-stage shelter programs, offering 50 fully furnished homes where families can remain for up to two years while working toward long-term stability and independence. Families receive comprehensive supports designed to strengthen every aspect of their lives—from parenting and mental wellness to employment readiness, financial independence, education, and healthy relationships.
Our approach recognizes that safety is only the beginning. Lasting change happens when families have the opportunity to heal, grow, and build the skills and confidence needed to thrive.

Unlike annual donations that are spent immediately, endowment gifts are permanently invested through the Edmonton Community Foundation.
