Edmonton Community Legal Centre Fund

The Edmonton Community Legal Centre (ECLC) is a not-for-profit charitable
organization that has been providing free legal services to low-income
Albertans for 25 years.

Our staff team of lawyers, articling students, legal assistants, and client
support professionals work in partnership with 400 volunteers, including
250 volunteer lawyers to provide free legal information, advice, and
representation to over 50,000 low-income people each year.

As a charitable organization, the ECLC is funded by a variety of foundations,
with primary funding from the Alberta Law Foundation. The ECLC is grateful
for personal and corporate donations which further support our work.

In 2024, the ECLC board took an important step to contribute to long-term
financial stability, and established an endowment fund with the Edmonton
Community Foundation.

The Edmonton Community Legal Centre Fund was established with a $100,000
initial donation in the fall of 2024, and as of the end of December 2025, the
fund had a total balance of $221,428.

Our short-term goal is a fund of $2 million. This would provide annual funding
to the ECLC, at 4.5% of the fund value, equaling $90,000. This would enable us
to hire an annual articling student, regardless of the ebbs and flows of our
other funding.

Our endowment funds support emerging and priority needs in the greater Edmonton community, now and for generations to come. Donate to a fund
