Beloved Wife • Mother • Grandmother • Daughter • Sister • Friend
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sheryle Dawn Schinke, who passed away peacefully in Edmonton, Alberta, on June 25, 2026, at the age of 64, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, on August 9, 1961, Sheryle grew up in Sherwood Park, Alberta. She earned a Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta and enjoyed successful careers in sales before serving as a Legal Clerk with the Government of Alberta.
Sheryle’s greatest joy was her family. She is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Andy Schinke; her daughter, Alex Kramar (Kyle) and treasured granddaughter, Elena; her son, Aric Schinke (Jenn) and cherished grandson, Easton. She was predeceased by her parents, Ed and Grace Gies, and her brother, Greg Gies.
Sheryle was known for her warm smile, quick wit, and kind heart. She loved music, dancing, and bringing people together, leaving everyone she met with a smile. A dedicated volunteer, she was a proud member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, where she formed lifelong friendships while supporting opportunities for women through education.
Throughout her cancer journey, Sheryle faced every challenge with grace, courage, and unwavering positivity. Surrounded by the love of her family and dear friends, she continued to inspire those around her with her strength, resilience, and appreciation for every moment.
Sheryle’s kindness, laughter, and unconditional love will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know and love her.
In keeping with Sheryle’s lifelong spirit of kindness, generosity, and service to others, the family is establishing the Sheryle Schinke Memorial Fund through the Edmonton Community Foundation. The fund will create a lasting legacy by supporting causes that reflect Sheryle’s values of education, compassion, kindness, and community.
In keeping with Sheryle’s wishes, the family will gather privately for internment. Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life this October with an evening of music, laughter, and shared memories. Details will be posted on Sheryle’s Facebook page.
Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever remembered.
“The music may have faded, but the joy, love, and light Sheryle brought into our lives will echo in our hearts forever.”
