Tristan’s Wilderness Memorial Fund was established in honour of a young man with a love of the outdoors, gone far too soon. It supports opportunities for young people to develop positive decision-making skills through encounters with the outdoors. Financially, the fund supports the work of the Youth Wilderness Challenge Program, which offers young people, aged 12-21, primarily referred through partner agencies and community workers, the opportunity to participate in 10-day wilderness encounters with no fees charged to youth. The programming is designed to build self-esteem and positive decision-making skills to prevent the relapse of high-risk behaviour among participants. Further information about the program itself is available here: https://www.wycp.org/
